There may be some other changes to be introduced in this new version as well, but at its core, the film will likely follow 11-year-old Alexander going through a particularly awful day starting from the very moment he wakes up. Plot details haven't been divulged, but it's expected that this new reimagining of the book will feature a similar plot but with an all-new cast.
Shawn Levy is producing with Dan Levine and Lisa Henson. But then, everybody has bad days, sometimes. This new film adaptation will be directed by Marvin Lemus and is written by Matt Lopez. To be quite honest, its a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. His casting follows that of Eva Longoria and Jesse Garcia, who will be playing Alexander's parents, while other family members have been cast with Paulina Chavez and Rose Portillo. Deadline has revealed that Thom Nemer ( Snowfall) has been cast as Alexander, the young boy whose day just is not going right at all in the classic story.
